Reversing TarnishingUpdated 21 days ago

It is natural for gold-plated jewellery to occasionally show signs of tarnish. Factors such as perspiration and body oils, which vary from person to person, can sometimes accelerate discolouration or oxidation. To help preserve the radiance of your pieces, we recommend removing them before sleeping or exercising.

We also suggest removing before any showering or swimming as chlorine can help expedite the tarnishing process. If your jewellery begins to tarnish, a gentle polish with a jewellery cloth can often restore its shine for sterling silver and solid gold designs.

A specialised cleaning solution will need to be used for vermeil-plated pieces. Should the tarnish persist, we recommend visiting a professional jeweller for a deeper clean. For those seeking additional support, ultrasonic cleaning is also available at both our boutiques and HQ, subject to the condition of your piece.
