Why do I need to have ID for myself and child if they are under 16 years?Updated 9 months ago
We require a minor's photo ID - either a school card or passport as they do not have learner driving permits under 16. We need this photo ID because a child still needs to prove who they are and how old they are, we also need to link them with a guardian/parent.
The parent who is consenting to the piercing also needs to bring ID in. If as a parent or guardian, you have a different surname, we will need a Medicare card to link you to the child. As a parent or guardian can I sign off piercing approval without ID? No, we still need to prove who the child is.
Will a Medicare card or COVID certification be enough for ID? No, there is no photo or date of birth date on there. Did you forget any of the above forms of ID? That's okay here are some suitable alternative solutions:
- Does your child have an online school portal where we can access their identification?
- Do you have a photo of the child’s passport or school card on your phone?
- Is there someone at home who can send a photo of your ID to you?
If any of these suggestions don’t work, we cannot pierce you.
