What should I do if my piercing is infected? How can I tell if it's infected?Updated 5 months ago

Infections can be nasty and are the last thing we want you experiencing post-piercing! The first thing we want you to do is ask yourself a few questions. Is there pus? Is it extremely inflamed? Does it hurt to touch or put anything near? We strongly urge you to contact a local GP if any of these symptoms are present for longer than a few days.

Please bear in mind that piercings are essentially an open wound and will be a little sore and irritated for a few days after your appointment, this is normal and to be expected. If you ensure you are cleaning at least once a day with our preferred solution available here you should be able to manage these symptoms.

Often your piercing is not infected as real infection is very rare, always grab a second opinion from a professional if you are unable to figure out if the piercing is infected or not. If you are infected sometimes you do not need to remove the piercing, you can go to see a GP and be given antibiotics.
