Water and Your JewelleryUpdated 9 hours ago
Most of our jewellery is not designed to be waterproof—and for good reason. While occasional contact with water won’t immediately damage plated or sterling silver pieces, ongoing exposure to water, perfume, deodorant, or household cleaning products can accelerate tarnishing and wear.
Tarnishing occurs when hydrogen sulphide reacts with the silver beneath the gold plating. Some brands coat their plated jewellery with resin to slow this process, but this often creates long-term issues, like the resin coming off with your plating. We choose not to compromise in this way.
Our solid gold jewellery, by contrast, is naturally waterproof and resistant to tarnish when cared for correctly. Over time, a soft polish will restore any dullness that comes from everyday wear. With proper jewellery care, you can preserve the beauty and longevity of your cherished pieces.
