For all piercings on minors, photo identification is required. As children under 16 do not hold driving permits, an alternative form of ID, such as a school card or passport, must be provided. This allows us to confirm both their identity and age, and to link them with their consenting parent or guardian.
Parents or guardians must also present their own ID at the appointment. If your surname differs from your child’s, a Medicare card is required to confirm your relationship. Please note that a Medicare card or COVID certificate alone is not sufficient, as these do not include a photo or date of birth.
If you have forgotten the required documents, here are some acceptable alternatives:
- Accessing your child’s online school portal to display identification.
- Presenting a photo of your child’s passport or school card on your phone.
- Having someone at home send through a photo of the required ID.
Without one of these valid forms of identification, we are unable to proceed with the piercing.
