Is your jewellery waterproof?Updated 9 months ago

No a majority of our jewellery is not waterproof and for good reason! While water doesn't have an immediate effect on 18k Vermeil Gold, continuous contact with water or other chemicals such as perfume, deodorant and household cleaning products can cause tarnishing. 

Tarnishing occurs when hydrogen sulphide reacts to the silver metal underneath our gold jewellery. Some brands choose to coat their plated gold with a resin mix but this can also cause issues in the long run which is why we prefer not to choose this route.

Proper jewellery care is recommended so you can ensure the longevity of your beloved pieces. Any of our solid gold products are waterproof and tarnishproof if cared for correctly.
