Caring For Your NecklaceUpdated 4 hours ago
At By Charlotte, we design with longevity in mind, but necklaces are especially vulnerable to wear and care habits. Please note that pieces not cared for according to these guidelines are not covered under our warranty.
Wearing Your Necklace
Necklaces should always be the last piece you put on and the first you take off. This ritual helps minimise exposure to creams, oils, perfumes, and hairspray, all of which can dull their shine. Avoid wearing your necklace in water, whether swimming, showering, or washing dishes, as moisture can weaken the metal and diminish its finish.
Vermeil pieces are especially sensitive to perspiration. To preserve their glow, remove your necklace before exercise or activities that may cause excessive sweating. As with all fine jewellery, store and wear with care. Please keep necklaces separate from other items to avoid scratches, ideally in a soft pouch or a lined jewellery box with compartments.
Cleaning Your Necklace
After wearing, gently wipe your necklace with a soft cloth to remove any natural oils or residue. For a deeper clean, use a small amount of mild soap diluted in warm water, then pat dry with a cloth and lay flat to air dry. Avoid harsh detergents, chemicals, or ultrasonic cleaners, which can damage the plating and may cause cracking.
